Individual cream puffs can be time-consuming, but this cream puff dessert delivers the same light pastry, creamy filling, and rich toppings—all in an easy 13×9-inch pan. The impressive choux pastry crust makes it look fancy, even though it’s surprisingly simple to prepare.


What Is Choux Pastry?

The dough used here is choux pastry, the same dough used for classic cream puffs. The name comes from the French word choux, meaning cabbage—because baked cream puffs were once thought to resemble little cabbages (petits choux). Odd name, delicious result.
